I had an interesting meeting on Wednesday. I met my mother face-to-face for the first time since I started transition. Since the only time she had free was in the evening and the only places to meet were pubs, we decided to sit in the car, in the Co-op car park. It was a new car so the heating worked well, a little too well at one point! I wont go into details of our conversation, (it’s private), but I will say it was pleasantly surprising. I was nervous as hell, waiting in the car park for her, and I think she was as well, but that nervousness disappeared when I got in the car to speak to her. It was a shame that I didn’t have more time to spend with her but, with all that she had to do while she was in the UK, it wasn’t to be. Plus she had to fly back the next morning. Unfortunately I’m not going out there this year, but I’m not on my own this time, it’s going to be myself and Tracey.
Finally finished getting all of Tracey’s stuff from her old flat into the new one. Now it’s just a matter of sorting it all out and putting everything in its place. I never want to see another set of stairs like hers again! The worst part was getting her bloody great three-seater leather sofa down, but it’s all out now.
I’m looking for a car now that I have my license back, but it’s not easy. One good thing, from an insurance point of view is that the endorsements that are on my license come off in January, (except one, MS90, which comes off in September). So my insurance will be lower YAY! Now I just have to figure out how to pay for a car !
