Being trans, I don’t often talk about it. Not out in the open usually. Tonight, though, I did. I was attempting to gain support for trans women who need to fulfil some aspect of their RLE and offering to do that via volunteering. I’m afraid I may have missed that by some margin. The problem is, to offer help with something you are part of, without revealing you are part of it, is incredibly difficult. So, to my mind, there is no point. I offer trans women in Aldershot/Farnborough/Farnham and surrounding area’s, help. Help with RLE, (volunteering, job hunting etc), help with first time outside, excursions, etc and general help with transition to whatever exent I can. It may not be much but I will do what I can.
Well, I’ve gone and done it. I’ve sent off my request for an appointment at CHX for my second surgical referral. Despite having yet to lose the required weight, I thought it would be a good idea to get a little ahead of the game since it takes so long for CHX to send the appointments out. I will continue dieting but, going on past performance, I’ll be little more than a skeleton by the time I recieve the appointment. I have to admit its difficult. I can diet but I’m having trouble giving up the sugar, one of the biggest contributors to my weight. Also, exercise is a bit of a problem. I can do static ones but, with work and a damaged knee, any active exercises like running, cycling etc are currently out of the question. Work keeps me busy and mobile and walking isn’t a problem so that’s ok.
Still, I’ll muddle through and, hopefully shift the weight before my appointment date.
Although its annoying giving up the chocolate. I hate ignoring friends.
Yep, that’s right. She’s only gone and started another blog. I’ve decided to keep “The Girl From Nowhere” as my transition blog, as it should have been in the first place, but it started to turn a bit weird so I’m trying to get it back on track. The new blog is going to be a sort of day-to-day thing about being a woman in IT and other things related to computers. It has a really imaginative title: “The Diary of an IT Girl“. The actual web address was inspired by “Tesla Girls” by OMD.
So, pop on over and have a read. I’m going to try to keep it updated daily, (like that’s going to last), or at least several times a week, depending on how tired I am or how much coffee I’ve had.
